Adam bunun üzerine;“Yanlış kadınla evlendim de ondan!” diye karşılık verir. Ziglar bu anıyı aktardıktan sonra şöyle sorar; “Peki ya bu adam doğru adam mı? Yani kadın doğru adamla mı evlenmiş? Yanlış seçilmiş bir insana doğru insanmış gibi davranırsanız sonuçta doğru insanla evlenmiş olmaz mısınız? Doğru seçilmiş bir insanla evlendiğiniz halde yanlış davranıyorsanız yanlış bir evlilik yapmışsınız demektir çünkü. Doğru insan olmak doğru insanla evlenmekten çok daha fazlasıdır!” Yazar kitabında şu öyküyü anlatır.. “Yıllar önce Hawai’de başlık parasına benzer bir uygulama revaçtadır. Bir erkeğin sevdiği kızla evlenebilmesi için kızın ailesine belli sayıda inek vermek zorundadır. İnek sayısının 10 adet olması gerekmekle birlikte kızın özelliklerine göre bu sayı değişebilmektedir. ve adada iki kızı olan bir adam yaşamaktadır. Kızlardan büyük olanı bizdeki deyişle -kabul görmeyen- tipte, şanssız bir kızdır ve babası ona 3 inek fiyat biçmiştir; 2 inekli bir teklifi de kabul edecektir; hatta iyi bir pazarlıkla 1 ineğe fit olmaya razıdır. Bir gün adanın zenginlerinden Johny Lingo bu eve geldiğinde herkes onun diğer kızı isteyeceğini düşünür. Oysa yaşlı adamı sevince boğarak büyük kıza talip olur. Herkes en azından isteneni yani; 3 inek ödeyeceğini düşünürken Johny yanında 12 tane inekle gelmiştir!!.. O dönemlerde normal bir balayı ortalama bir yıl sürmektedir ama gelin ve damat iki yıllık balayı planlamıştır. Damatla gelinin dönmesinin beklendiği gün ahaliden biri dönüşlerini haber vermeye gelir gelmesine ama gelenlerin Jony ve eşi olduğundan emin değildir. Aslında Johny'i tanımıştır fakat kızdan emin olamamıştır; yaklaşan kadın çok güzel, zarif birisidir. İyice yaklaştıklarında kimsenin tereddütü kalmaz. Fakat kızın güzelliği, cazibesi ve çekiciliği en eleştirici gözle bile reddedilmeyecek ölçüdedir. Yakından bakanlar Johnny'nin 12 inek karşılığında iyi bir alışveriş yaptığını düşünürler.” Yazar işin püf noktasını şöyle özetler; “Johnny 12 inek ödedi, kız 12 ineklik bir kadın haline geldi.” Bu hep böyle olmaktadır; eşinize veya sevgilinize verdiğiniz değer, ona kazandırdığınız değerdir.
